16 Bit Arcade [24 Games in 24 Hours]

A rundown arcade on the corner of town holds the key to a mystery...

The Challenge:

I decided to give myself a challenge, 24 games in 24 hours. Rather than upload 24 small projects I decided to bundle them all together and set up a story within arcade. I also added a secret to link it with the ongoing "Project 2021". 

Rules I Followed:

• No Generative Ai (code, art, or music)
• Can reuse art / code / ideas from older projects but cannot copy in entire games
  • Example: "Lava Escape" reuses art from "static lifeline" but all code and level design were done during the 24 hours
•  Arcade "Hub" area was developed outside of the 24 hours
• Arcade machine art was developer within the 24 hours

Controls (Can be rebound in settings):

• Move: WASD / Arrow Keys
• Jump: W / Up Arrow / Space
• Interact: F
• Toggle Fullscreen: Tab
• Settings: Esc
• Shoot: Left Mouse Button

The Games:

Games include tests of skill, platforming, zombie defense, card games, infinite runners, and more.

Each game rewards the player with tickets and a chance to win a high score. Tickets can be used within an in-game shop to buy cosmetics.

What is Project 2021?

In 2021, I gave myself a challenge, 12 games, 12 months, 1 story. While that project has been completed, I am continuing to create games canon to that universe. Including this project. While you do not need to play any prior or following games to enjoy this, the lore does build. Can you piece together the story that is being told?
